How do I charge a Lumia 640 while switched off?

How to charge lumia 640 while switched off

Each and every time I plugin the charger the phone vibrates and switches it on by itself.

This is intentional the phones bios must be active in order to mange the charging state of the battery.

Could it not just show a charging screen instead, or flash the Windows Key like my old L610 did? That way the BIOS is on and the OS is off, then everyone's happy.

WP 8 and up Lumias will not stay powered off when charging. There is no workaround.

If users want to charge powered off because it is at night and they don't want the phone to ring they need to silence manually or establish quiet hours.
