If you think so, I mean, its up to you to decide. If it sounds like a good deal to you, go for it.

I'm not one for phablets and I like my OIS as well as some other smaller features, so I'd pick the 920, but for you...

The 640 XL seems to be more about quantity while the 920 is of higher overall quality.. for instance..

?The 640xl has the larger more spacious display
?While 920 has a smaller but SHARPER display that has some bonuses like clearblack tech
?secondly the 640xl has more megapixels (14)
? The 920 has only 8.7,but that's plenty sharp as it surpasses full HD,and the 920 has OIS,dual led flash,a Carl Zeiss lens and pureview tech, while the 640 doesn't!

So its ultimately up to what you value most

Quantity ( 640xl) or quality (920)

A new respectable Common man with big intentions (640xl)
or
a very Old King (920) that's almost on his last leg

The only reason I would replace it for is battery life (I'm thinking of it myself) plus non-gaming performance is better on the 640XL (speculating from a similar spec'd 830)

Things like wireless charging, OIS and taking pictures in very poor light - the 920 has the edge but other things I would guess the 640XL will probably surpass or at least equal. I'd get the 640XL but also keep the 920 to mess about with W10TP...

The Lumia 920 was so ahead of its time. I think three years after its release, it showcases some of the best specs out there for a windows phone. With that being said, I traded mine in for a 1520 and am not regretting it at all. The bigger screen is amazing, and I know the display for the 640XL isn't an HD display, it's still really good, especially with the clear black display. The 920's biggest turn off was it's weight. The 640XL, although a bigger phone, is a much lighter phone. Micro SD is a big thing, which nullifies the 32Ghz, on the 920. I do miss the Qi wireless charging, however you can buy wireless charging cases.
The biggest thing you need to contemplate is transition from a phone that is pretty much no longer being supported as MSFT moves forward, and a phone that represents the forward thinking of MSFT.

920 still triumph many newer Lumias that are being currently pushed out. Touch, screen and camera is excellent. None of the newer devices can beat it.

Overall built quality is so good (and so heavy).

I'd still stand by my 920(still my daily device) the weight is actually beneficial as it helps to steady it while taking pictures + OIS and probably one of the most solid phones made (see the destruction video of the 920 by phonebuff) I dont really get the whole thin and light thingy, we aren't racing cars or bikes. As stated earlier the 920 was an innovation (in my opinion too). Compare the 930 and 920, the 930 is only a few seconds faster (the only major thing would be the cam 5 performance that beats the 920). In the end its your choice.

Just a general question about battery. What's the efficacy of batteries on phone that has been idle since it was manufactured years ago?? Battery performance of the 920 is its Achilles heel. I can't get beyond 8 hours usage on normal use (just surfing, messaging, WC app, FB, no games or movies) ... something for the OP to take into consideration

I wouldn't exactly say NONE of the newer devices beat it because the 830 is a few steps up from the 920 without letting go of not one feature the 920 had(other than dual led flash), and the 1520 completely destroys the 920 with literally its only drawback being that some people dont like a six inch phone...also the 930 does a good job of succeeding the 920, it just has only slightly better battery life than the 920, continued the 920's heating issues and has no availability in the U.S ( the icon was boring ( no color) and had ugly Verizon tattoos, and ended up getting cancelled early...so yes ZERO availability)

Wrong, the Lumia 640 XL does have Carl Zeiss lens

I want to replace my L920 by Lumia 640 XL ..is it worth??

I'm using a 640XL rite now. Definitely worth it :amaze:

Gaming Performance is also good on 640XL. I play like 4 to 5 hours of VBA8 Emulator & Six-Guns a day and still get like 60% left for other stuff(Keeps me off my PC gaming addiction :winktongue:)

True.

Lumia 640XL has Clear-Black tech too

Gaming performance is good and I don't mean the battery. It was more about fluidity and graphics. Try playing games like Sonic Dash on a 920 and then the 640XL and you'll understand what I mean.

True but it also lacks the deeper clear black that you'll find on the 920, the 640XL is slightly bluish. Plus the LCD quality on the 920 is way better than the 640XL since the 920 was a flagship when it launched. Plus the 920 also gets the 60Hz PureMotionHD tech for a faster fluid experience.

Yea, I play Sonic Dash on a daily basis too haha. It only lags alittle when I try to do the AIR COMBO After Level Complete. And 920 Definitely has better Display Quality since it's more expensive

If you're in the market for this year's flagship, save your coins and stick with the 920. If you're going to actually keep the 640XL, I say go for it. It's tempting to want to get a new phone "just because it's new" whether than waiting. I am waiting for the next flagship from Microsoft and hoping it will not be an exclusive launch even though history leans towards this happening again. From the reviews I've seen though the 640XL seems to handle itself pretty well.
