Why did HTC discontinue support for HTC Sense TV

HTC stops support for the IR blaster on the One M8 (windows) .. Why?
And what needs to be done.

Maybe because very little people actually used it. I have had a HTC One M7 and now M8 and never once opened this app. I find it useless.

From what I've gathered, HTC suspended support from all of their phones because the guide functionality they provided came at a price. HTC had to attain that information, update, and pass it on to us, and they were doing so for free, all the while other apps provided the same service. It makes sense why they cut the guide service. The IR blaster on the other point, not sure. I've got a pretty detailed write up of my encounters you should check out if you'd like to know more.

How do you know the IR blaster still works? Do you have an app that uses it?
