An update is available.Once i tried to download.Reached till 20%.Then due to network error it stopped.
When i try it again it shows downloading.But nothing is starting.It is not moving to even 1%.After sometimes.It shows you need to connect to Wi-Fi to download the update.
The Wi-Fi is connected and working.
Why is this happening?

Could be a low mass memory amount on your 535.
Look at storage sense and see how much internal memory you have left.

Only other thing I know that may work is resetting the router that the phone is connecting to if possible.

Try delete/clear "Temporary" / "Other" files from storage.

Temporary files – Files created and deleted during normal use, including Internet Explorer history, cookies, and temporary storage. Tap Delete to delete unused temporary files. Tap Internet Explorer settings to go to browser settings.

On Windows Phone 8.1, in the App list, go to Storage Sense > Phone > Temporary files, and then tap Delete.

Your phone automatically cleans out a small amount of temporary files (which are categorized in "other") every day. And if your phone has less than about 6% of its total storage space free or less than 250 MB (whichever comes first), it will trigger an "aggressive" clean-up process to eliminate temporary files.

Maybe turn off phone and remove SD card, some can cause phone to malfunction.

Also remember to turn off battery saver when downloading updates.

Firstly, switch off your Wi-Fi/data connection.
Then restart your phone.
You have to take an eye on these steps:-

-your phone's battery should be more than 50% (lies between 70-80)
- Wi-Fi connection should have good strength.

Sometimes the downloading bar sticks but it is working in background process.
So don't cancel the update.
