I got some time to play around with the 640XL today when I was at the Eaton Center in Toronto.

It's not a bad looking or feeling phone, though I find that 5.7" is too big. Even with the screen size being too big for me, I would actually consider it if I were going to switch to Wind Mobile and wanted a Windows Phone. I wonder why Microsoft doesn't list WCDMA Band 4 on the 640XL page. There is also LTE Band 4 so it will work on T-Mobile in the US as well.

I have to say on an unrelated (well kind of related) note that your fellow Canadian Linus Sebastian is an absolute tech genius. Linus tech tips is awesome. Nice phone though!

what application is that one in the photo showing bands??
It's called Field Test Mode. Most, if not all smartphones, have a similar function.

1. open the phone app and dial ##3282#
2. tap Accept
3. tap ... at the bottom and tap settings
4. Under 'Network type', change it from Automatic to Manual
5. another box will appear, 'Supported bands (select at least one)', tap on it

now all the bands supported on the phone will be displayed.
