Is my Virgin/Sprint 635 a CDMA phone only?

I'm sorry if this has been answered before, but is that Virgin 635 that's on sale these days from best buy CDMA only? I got it at looking at the specs saying it has both bands but I don't get the unlock prompt when I insert my GSM SIM...

ah k, im just in Canada and I was hoping I can pop in my SIM card to get the unlock code prompt..but it doesn't! Kinda frustrating.
