System using ~5gb of internal storage, why is so much space being used?

System using ~5gb of internal storage

Hi everybody, I've been having this issue for a month or so where my internal storage (of 7.28gb) is being taken away almost entirely by system files which are, as of right now, in 4,90gb.

I was wondering why this may be happening, whether a hard reset is my only choice or if there's another way.

Try filling up your internal memory to the point you get a memory low message. At that point the system will clean some internal files to clear up space. Although that will only but you upto a few hundred MBs.

I've had the memory low message a couple times a day for the last week or two. It's got to the point where I have 32,00kb free and apps stop working as expected, and restarting only gains me some 30mb or so that get filled up in a couple of hours
