Lumia 640XL - Glance Screen background,how can I allow it?

Lumia 640XL - Glance Screen Background

Hello,

I just recently switched from a Lumia 1520 to a Lumia 640XL. My question is about Glance Screen.

With the 1520, my screen always had a lighter image of a background behind the time and notifications. For whatever reason, I cannot seem to allow "that" with the 640XL. Is there a setting in which I am forgetting to check off?

I've heard the 640 and 640 XL have less display memory than other devices.

While none at all means no glance, period. Here it appears the limited memory means no glance apps or backgrounds unfortunately.

AHHHHH ok then that makes sense. Ugh kinda makes one appreciate the power under a 2yr+ old Lumia 1520.

Sorry to ask, but... why did you do that (switched from 1520 to 640 XL). Did you lost that 1520 or it was broken?
Not having full glance on our 640 XL is a bummer, but I'm more worried about not getting the forth column of tiles with the upcoming Windows 10 upgrade (the 1520 already have it).

EDIT: Just installed Windows 10 Build 10166 and can confirm there's a 4th column of tiles

windows 8.1 update 2 doesn't support glance backgrounds.
only clock and some notifications like calls, messages.
Instead of developing glance screen( the most beautiful part in windows phone), ms weakens it.

It's not Update 2, its hardware as I wrote above.

partially right, not all kinds of screens, such as htc 8x .
but for nokia & ms devices , they support glance screen.
starting from windows 8.1 update 2, devices don't support glance backgrounds

I switched because my hardware camera button was not working for some time. I figured to sell it now before value keeps dropping.

Got the 640XL as a "hold me over" till the next Flagship is released. I must say, the only real problem for me on the 640XL is the speed. Apps do not run at blazing speeds. Lag appears but not too bad.

I took the 1520 for granted! Old model phone but two years later, still handled every app a d multitasking with such ease. No lag what so ever.
