Phantom Voicemail

Lately the voicemail icon has been appearing on my HTC One M8's lock screen even though I have no new voicemails. I have cleared out my voicemails on multiple occasions and the icon disappears for a few hours. However, not long after it re-appears again. Has anyone else had this issue and why has it never happened until now?

are you using Verizon Visual Voicemail? you might try logging out/in of that to see if that may help. I have had some weird issues that were helped by this.

Nope. It's just regular voicemail on Verizon Wireless. (Running the latest official OS Version). I could have sworn that I saw this issue circulating the forums a while back for different phone models. It may be an issue specific to Windows Phone OS rather than the HTC One M8. The issue is still present after about 2 and 1/2 weeks. I can live with it, but it sure is annoying.

"phantom voicemail" is usually on the side of the carrier. It's usually an MWI ( message waiting indicator) issue. Call support at Verizon.
