When I delete an email on my Nokia 640 it remains on the server. How can I get it removed from the server?

When I delete an email on my Nokia 640 it remains on the server.

How do I get it so that when I use my mobile for email which is not often. When I get home or back from holiday I still have all those emails to delete.

After deleting them from the phone, trying syncing them back to the server to update the server that they've been deleted. This may help.
