Can nokia lumia 925 phones get traced? If yes, how?

Reason being that i lost my phone in taxi and somebody must have found it so i would like to know if is there anything i can do to help find it because it is not insured either

I'm sure you may have tried this already, but it never hurts to ask. Have you tried calling the phone? My mom actually lost her phone once in Las Vegas at a casino. We called the phone and a man picked up with the hopes that we'd call. We meet up shortly after and recovered her phone. I know this is a rare occurrence these days, but it's worth a shot.
