I don't think we'll see a 750 or 650 for some time.

Next year, makes more sense to me. It wouldn't make sense for Microsoft to announce three phones, have them come out in the next 2 months and then surprise(!), a random midrange.

Keep dreaming...
I seriously doubt Microsoft will start servicing it's fans with new phones anytime soon.

Yeah, for sure the design language of Lumia smartphones of 2014 and 2015 have become stale and uninspiring, Lumia series need complete overhaul of design after these *4* and *5* series and new naming schemes too.

Which would have two year old Snapdragon 410 Quad Core CPU at 1.2 Ghz, not new Snapdragon 412 Quad Core CPU at 1.4 Ghz. Why always old processors in Lumias at Low and Mid range Smartphones...

1. They work, and work well - will people notice? Not at lower price points necessarily.
2. They're cheaper, saves money.
3. Since they were around longer, they can be worked with sooner.

Lower end phones are about "good enough" rather than putting in the highest numbers possible.

Lumia 650 has a very different design compared to 950s. Slim, metal frame around the edges, pc back cover that comes of but not the whole thing (as with 950s, just the central part of it. Snapdragon 210 and 1GB RAM, 720p screen. Looks nice imo.

We'll see what, if any, will come. Specwise SD210 and 8MP camera would be more 555 than 650. Makes no sense to me.
I would expect something in line with 3rd gen Moto G both in specs and price.

I own a Motorola G lte and a 640. The 640 is my main phone right now but I am taking a look at the Motorola G ultra. It's a jump up over both the phones I have now and still at a reasonable price. If Microsoft doesn't come out with a good mid range I will probably get the ultra as my main phone and the 640 will be the secondary phone.

I think their strategy to release one "value" phone - 550 -, one midrange/business oriented and one high end - 950/XL - is fine, I just don't think the the naming convention makes sense if they call the middle model 650. Regardless of the specs, if they decided on this 3 tier arrangement and called the base 550 and the top 950, they should call the middle one 750.
