Are you lucky enough to have a Microsoft store near you? You can go and check it out, then report back and let us know what your experiences are!

I live in Georgia, but I'm in the Silicon Valley area right now. Checked out a MS Store, but unfortunately they only heard a 950 XL on display. I asked a store rep about it, but apparently he was either a little crazy out I don't speak Californian... he said something like "it's a hot a$$, hot a$$".

I was at the Microsoft Store at Eaton Center in Toronto and got a hands-on with the 950 and 950 XL

nice phones, both are slimmer than my 640 XL.

I took a few pictures of the info screens on both devices. I post the pictures from the 950 XL in its section

Let's start with the Lumia 950. You can see that the 950 here is a Dual SIM and has build 10551 loaded on it. This build has Continuum on it for anyone wondering. Coninuum can be set up to run either wired or wireless.

for reference, the Lumia 950 is RM-1118

Does this sound accurate?

I just had a hands on with the 950xl at a Microsoft store. Pretty nice phone but they didn't have a 950 on display. Anyway, back in February when I purchased an unlocked 830 I also got the Microsoft extended protection. I asked the rep how would they handle replacement of my Lumia 830 since MS consists of EOL and they didn't have any in stock, I was surprised when she told me they would replace it with a 950 (minus $50 deductible), they won't be receiving any 950's on release only 950XL's ....... Does this replacement strategy seem legit?

Could be, generally stores that offer replacement plans will replace with equal or better, although you may have to pay the difference? IDK exactly how MS stores work... I'll be returning my warranted Band 1.0 to BB shortly after October 30 to have it replaced with a 2.0, but I'm going to have to pay the $50 difference.
