Can I get some help with a downloading problem?

Downloading problem

I had put my Microsoft Lumia 640xl phone to reset mode few days ago.When going through the process a message came to me-before you can continue,you need to check <personal e-mail removed by moderator> for a message from the Microsoft Accounts Team.Follow the instructions in the email to finish setting up your account.But the problem is that I went with the email id and password to open the mail but I couldn't open it.Then going through the forgot password process till couldn't open the mail.Now the problem is I am unable to download apps updates and other things on my phone.What shall I do.Please suggest.

You'll have to go back through the "forgot password" process, and recover your account, or create a new one, one or the other. A Microsoft account is required to download apps and/or updates from the store.
