How can I get my Lumia 1520 power button working?

Lumia 1520 power button not working

My Nokia Lumia 1520 power button has suddenly stopped working. Things I have already tried are soft reset and hard reset without luck. I don't have the chive app installed which was supposed to cause this issue sometime ago. Also, I can do a soft reset - which means the power button works in some situations, just not with normal on/off operation. I am at the mercy of double tap to wakeup now Please help

I am on windows 10 build 10586.

All hardware, especially those with moving parts, are bound to fail eventually. It's possible that dust has accumulated in the contacts, preventing the efficient functioning of the button - try using a can of compressed DRY air for that.

If cleaning doesn't work, then you may need to have that repaired in a service center, something that may not be really convenient at this point in time.
