Why don't I have any alarm sounds on my Lumia 920?

No alarm sounds with Lumia 920

I have a Lumia 920 on Denim WP 8.1. Until recently I could set an alarm and it would come up on the screen and also play a sound. Now it only comes up on the screen and no sound is played. I tried a soft reset no luck. I tried creating new alarms no sound is played. I tried changing sounds no luck either. Under ringtones + sound all boxes are checked for sounds. Music does play.

That's a odd one, have you tried any of the alarm apps?

As they should be invoking the same thing (more or less) if the same thing happens other than a hard reset or worst case scenario a reflash using the windows device recovery tool. Beyond that I don't know what else to suggest.

Music and Media have a different volume setting than Alarm and sms & phone signals FYI.
