Why isn't my IMEI number registered?

IMEI number not regestered

Hi guys
just bought a new Microsoft 550 cz its windows 10 and its awesome compare to my other lumia 535 . any ways my question is when i call the toll free number to ask some question they tell me to enter my imei number and after entering the number they say sorry its not registered . i don understand how im suppose to talk to the executive as after that the call is disconnected .
Can i know what wrong im i doing please

May we know why you are calling Microsoft (through their toll-free number)?

I have experienced the same issue - however, the service center where I brought my phone (not a Lumia 550) recognized the IMEI number of the device.
