My MS account, can I get some help?

I just got an HTC M8. My first windows phone. I created a Windows acct. then 5 days later (today) I had to do a hard reset. As I was prompted through the steps I was instructed to enter my account. I entered email and password (which I had kept in a folder on my computer) but it said not valid and I had to skip it. I had already entered about 20 contacts, btu because I can't access that account, I can't get them restored. I had previously had an iphone and didn't know how to transfer that data. So please help me. I would really like to get my calendar, notes and contacts from my iphone which was (mostly) backed up on iCloud. I had already saved all my pictures to my computer.

You can add your icloud account to the HTC One M8 under settings -> email + accounts.
