Upgraded Lumia 540 to W10 and now messaging Notifications are Gone

I have recently upgraded my Lumia 540 to W10 Mobile. All is well except that now my SMS notifications are not showing up in the notification center and nor am I getting the sound alert for the SMS. This is true for both normal and Battery saver modes.

Any ideas whats happening here?

go to Background apps and ensure messaging+skype is enabled on .. Then it will come in the notification center

Broar94 Please clarify the path to get to BACKGROUND APPS.

I had similar problems with SMS and Email, so I enabled system sound and then soft reboot, both now work

This Windows 10 mobile is around 95% finished, can't wait until an update sorts the whole OS out

Sure,it's in Privacy -> Background apps(right after Radios)
