Given the direction of WP/WM, it's getting harder and harder to recommend ANY model to anyone but the most die-hard fanboy. But the 735 emails a decent mobile at a great price. There are a few issues, however, that should be mentioned.
-- First, the 735 is a Verizon phone and the W10M update from the current 8.1 is MIA. I've heard from a knowledgeable insider at Verizon that the 735 is NOT getting W10M. I do so hope he's wrong, but he has a pretty good track record with this kind of info.
-- Second, the power button on the side is too obtrusive. Especially with the double-tap to wake, there is no reason for anything but a tiny recessed button on the top somewhere, out of the way. As it is now, I find I'm always hitting the power button by mistake even when I'm just holding the phone and shifting it in my hand.
-- Bank apps are MIA. I rely on my Chase and Wells Fargo apps all the time. Not having them on WM is a killer. I also miss my Starbucks app.
+ On the plus side, it has a gorgeous screen and the overall size of the device is small. For a second/backup phone its wonderful. I couldn't use it as my daily driver, but it's still a nice size as an extra phone.
+ Bluetooth integration with cars is the best. Cortana is natural and intuitive. Siri requires that I read punctuation into messages when I'm replying to a message verbally. And I have to ask Siri to read my messages. Cortana takes the initiative and asks. I'd love to turn that feature on for Siri on my iPhone but alas, it's not happening.
