It works only on US for now, that's banks policy iussue, they give the service

In the US, it needs the correct version. For me, that downloaded automatically about 72 after initial install. I could find no way to force it

That makes little to no sense. The very market that this phone is meant for is reason enough to have Tap to Pay. Enterprise contains many areas that will need this capability as a very important asset.

I'm kind of surprised. I didn't think it would take much to add tap to pay, since the device already has NFC and the OS has tap to pay capability built in.

I liked your post as a way of saying thanks, although I wish the answer was different! This is the first WM device in a couple years that has me interested. I'm watching it closely!

I'm not sure that tap to pay would be a big thing in enterprise. Wouldn't it only be useful where the employee also has a company credit/debit card? Some do, but many do not. I guess it could be argued that any employee given a company phone would also likely have a company card. Who knows?

I don't believe security is an issue with tap to pay. It should be just as secure as chip and pin. And you get a receipt just like with a normal credit card transaction.

True. I'm not disputing the fact that enterprise users may not be using tap to pay even if it is available. I just don't believe that the reasons are security and (lack of) receipt. Neither apply, since both are equal to using an actual card.

Time will tell. Right now, I heard that potential security it's the reason. Well, I'm in an enterprise.

I agree security is still a concern and it may not be addressable well enough with current hardware. Remember IoT devices are still suffereing from security issues. That said, I do see executives asking about Apple pay so yes probably there is interest on the business side of things. But often execs want things they shouldn't have just yet. :)

I'll try to find out about tap to pay. Oddly, the Elite x3's camera shutter sound also can't be disabled, which does suggest some fine-tuning around enterprise/security concerns.

It's now essentially December 2016. I received an e-mail from US Bank that I have a card with saying it's available Microsoft Wallet. Well, not for the X3 STILL......

Daniel, please find out what's going on with this.... It's frustrating enough that MS is way behind on tap to pay, but that it's not enabled on all NFC phones.. ugh. Can't even use my 1520 ;)

Tap to pay is a feature available in the OS. Phone certification is with the OEM. Once HP allows this to be certified, then and only then will it be available. This is ah MS requirement Yes, but on HP to perform. I would think Q1fy17 a good target

The functionality is there. The feature can be turned on/off in settings however it doesn't work because HP hasn't gone through the device certification process to get it enabled with Microsoft Wallet.
