Longer USB-C cable for conencting to Microsoft Desk Dock

I am buying a Nokia 950 and MS Desk Dock - I want to be able to use Continuum on my tv with my Desk Dock (HDMI OUT) with my Bluetooth keyboard and mouse...

Hoping I can replace my aging XPS Studio 16 (which is noisy and on it's last Windows 10 legs) for browsing, email, and watching online HD video (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Fire TV Stick, etc.)

If my tv is going to be about 6 feet away and the Desk Dock - HDMI Cable reach about 2 feet, I think I will need a longer USB-C cable to connect my phone to the Desk Dock...

So what cable to I need to buy from Amazon UK? Is it USB-C to USB-C or USB-C to Micro-B?

I bought a Belkin USB-C to USB-C Charge cable from Amazon, unfortunately when I connect it between my Lumia 950 and Microsoft Dock I get an error message that the cable is wrong?

What cable should I buy?

Look for one that has all the pins wired or "full function." Likely the one you got is simply for charging.

Make sure it's a 3.0 USB cable and not a 2.0 USB cable for a better and stronger connection for data transfer speeds.

Easiest way to tell is look at the USB section of the cable if it's blue its 3.0 USB if it's white or black or another color it's 2.0 USB
