No surprise, those Taiwanese companies never bother to take some adventures, they prefer sticking to whatever is confirmed popular by the market, and the result is always that they have to cost down everything, because they sell the same products, just like every other companies do.
Besides, Asus didn't release any Windows Phone device to the market, I don't see anything special for ASUS to back out on RT.

Their device was pure $hit........buggy, didn't work well. Every forum you go to says - "DO NOT BUY ASUS VIVOTAB RT".........of course it didn't sell well. On top of that, the build quality was pure $hit too. If they made the hardware work like the Surface RT, then maybe they would have had a chance. All WinRT needs, is time. It has only been out for 10 months, and the apps are slowly but steadily being released.

Guess I'll jump into this dumpster dive.

RT is a tough sell. There were too many OEM's that went in from the get-go and it just screwed everyone. Way too many units out there and just not enough demand. Hopefully many of these OEM's will stay clear of the second gen of RT devices and let MSFT carry the load. As for the all the units that had to be written off they should just give those to schools to get them hooked at a young age. It worked for the cigarette companies for years.
