Back in April Dell said they would produce more RT tablets but haven't announced anything since then.

Better to get all of the OEM's out of this space and let MSFT be the only supplier.

There's nothing to stop MS from aggressively going after schools, libraries, businesses and other institutions with their Surface 2.

They will have a full HD 10" tablet on Bay Trail for $399 and their 8" tablet for $299 later this year, can't see where an RT device will fit in to their portfolio. We'll see if Microsoft can carry the OS by themselves.

    Its difficult.

You can't sell a tablet without all the apps available on the ipad/Android tablets, and you can't get the apps, without having a huge number of tablets out there.

It does seem that an RT/WP merge would be a good idea. Or, as Microsoft no longer have any partners selling RT devices to annoy by pricing them too aggressively, just go on a price offensive.

Why give them Surface 2's? They have that backlog of Surface 1 devices they can simply donate and use as a tax deduction. There is another benefit to this approach. If you want an entire generation to know and use your products get to them while they are young. It works for tobacco companies.
