So I finally downloaded the Windows 8.1 onto my Surface RT tablet and now I literally can't do anything because I can't connect to WiFi no matter what method I use whether its desktop or metro version of setting it up. Any thoughts??? I looked up some answers but its on 8.1 preview and the solution sounded legit but I don't know if it'll work the same way

I had this problem as well. you just have to uninstall the network adapter and it will work.

Go to Start and search "Device Manager"
under Network adapters, uninstall Marvel AVASTAR Wireless-N Network Controller, click OK. (leave the "delete the driver software for this device" box unchecked)

after that, click Action > Scan for hardware changes.

you should see the wifi icon on your taskbar back to normal and yay
