WPCentral Question

Hello everyone! I'm looking to buy two unlocked phones. My budget at this moment is 600$. Meaning no more than 300$ per phone.

The Nokia Lumia 920 is around 270$ on amazon, I could even buy two good impact cases for each phone... but i do not know if it would be wise for me to do such thing,

Is it too old?

I can not afford the nokia lumia 1020 nor the 1520. Only IF i were to buy one phone. And no way I could afford any of these in my country, I am from venezuela. And everything in here is eeally expensive.

I will be honest I have looked into android phones too, but my choices are either s3 or s4 mini, and I am liking more the Lumia 920...

I also read somewhere that who would buy a Lumia without a sd slot when theres the 8.1 update... i am liking the wirelesss charging on this phone, The Nokia Lumia 925 i can not afford it either, its around 310-320$. There is one seller though, selling it for 299.99 but i would not be able to buy any case or such ....

Any help will be really appreciated!!!

Now...I'd recommend the 920 at that price point.

While you could go cheaper (the 720 and optional wireless charging cover comes to mind), the 920 is your best shot considering your options.

My old Lumia 920 went to my wife & she still loves it. The device has 32gb onboard, but, NO sd card slot.

That being said, if you're buying by price, the phone will stand the test of time. You will get WinPhone 8.1 (when it's released for your country) & enjoy all of the upgrades thru @ least the next 18 - 24 months (I believe - that's at least, prolly longer).

Depends upon your use case, if you're asking will it work for the next two (or more) years, YES & you should continue to get all the updates. Is it state of the art - NO, one iteration behind (the Lumia 1520 / Icon / 930 being current devices). If it's a choice between the S3 / S4 mini or the Lumia 920 - get the Lumia 920, but I'm slightly biased. IF the camera is important, definitely the Lumia 920 (unless you can go to a more recent model). For comparison, I bought my Lumia 1520 off eBay for $425. NIB, but, it's the AT&T variant. You'd prolly be looking for an international variant.

Good Luck on your Shopping ... on eBay, do your due diligence on the seller.

Thank you! I plan on buying it from amazon, there are cheapers L920 on eBay, 229.99$ -shipping from Hong Kong-; but I have never used that site before...:unhappysweat: what i do plan to buy there is the otterbox defender though, on amazon the price is going for 79.99$ while on eBay I found the case for 24.99.

I am reading that theres a battery problem on the L920...

Don't know of any battery problem - my wife came home with 95% after 6 hrs lite usage, the other day. She charges it once a day (@ nite, throws it on the charging pad) & is good to go... and she leaves all her windows OPEN, never closes an app !
I found 23 windows open, once on her phone !
