Why is the Settings app eating so much storage?

I've got 8.1 on a Lumia 925, which means I'm working with 16Gb of storage space. The Storage Sense app shows that my apps are using 4.7Gb, and within that it is 'Settings' that's the largest.

Why so big? Is there a sensible way to reduce it? It's separate from the System files so seems a little odd to me.

Not unless you turn off or disable the settings in each system app and I don't even know if that will do it, but try it. Otherwise it's just the way it is. On my 810 it's 166 MB not much really.

Odd... Mine seems to be quite a lot higher than those figures. In fact it's currently at 3.9Gb. Might have to have a dig through the system apps to try and figure out the culprit! Cheers.
