If I unlock the sim on my phone, will I receive specific firmware updates?

Can anybody tell me please, if I will SIM unlock my phone, will I receive carrier specific firmware updates after that, or the update for non-carrier phones?

You will receive the carrier specific firmware updates not the updates for non-carrier phones.

If you carrier unlock your phone... And take it to another carrier...

​You won't get any OTA updates... They will be looking for your phone on the old carrier which the device is branded for.
