Calendar/ Traffic/ Location

Ok, so I have a Nokia Lumia Icon running 8.1 preview and Lumia Black.
Maybe I'm just incompetent but I can not figure out how to attach a location to a calendar event. I would like to get traffic updates to my appointments. The Location field seems to be only a note field. Useless. Any help would be great.

Just put the address in the location field. Do a test and let me know how it turns out and make sure ur GPS is on

Good idea, unfortunately didn't work. It made a link that takes me to the map but I have to go to my calendar and click the link.
The other problems I run into...
I don't know where my appointments are by address I know them by name say I have a lunch at cheesecake factory, I'd like to put I cheesecake factory not just a location so when it shows up on my start screen I know where I'm going.
cortana still didn't give me any traffic updates after putting the address in the location field.
yes I do have location services turned on.
