Can't link my EDU email to my phone?

I'm a college student. On Windows 8, I was able to connect to my g.edu (google university) email easily which made things extremely easy and convenient for every day use. I just upgrade to Windows 8.1 a day ago and now it's not recognizing it. Either it struggles with understanding what I want or when it does go through, I log in and it thinks about it for 10 minutes until it just closes out.

Any tips? I'm not really sure what to do here.
