Is voicemail notification without missed call notifying possible?

I synch my cell to my VOIP line, so when I pick up a VOIP call on the house line, I get a "missed call" on the cell. But I use the cell for voicemail, so while I don't want persistent missed call audio alerts I DO want persistent voicemail alerts. I'm considering a Lumia 520, but don't see any alert settings info in the manual PDF. Yes, there's a voicemail icon that appears, but I'm not a person looking at my phone all the time while I'm working, I need an audio alert. Is this possible?
