Why is my phone saying that it is checking for updates when I try to update it?

checking for update taking forever

hi all. i have got a lumia 822 and i have updated it to 8.1 using dev preview but when i tried to update it to update 1 it just says checking for updates and is stuck for forever. pls help me

Mine doing this now too as of about 30 mins ago. Tried manually checking for updates, nothing, turned off PfD, checked for updates, nothing available. Turned PfD back on, checked for updates again and now it stays checking forever.
Switching handset off then back on again does not resolve it.

hard reset did the work for me .................hope it helps you 2 too

This sorted itself after a while, but now have a L930 anyway
