Will a 32 Gb memory card slow down my Lumia 520?

I have a Lumia 520 with an 8gb of sd card. I want to expand the memory. Will it slow my phone. Should I consider a 16gb option?

I would stick to a Class 10 UHS if possible.

More memory would not slow down your phone. At the least, I'd get a Class 4.
I can't say what you should get in terms of space, use your discretion.

You should be good to go up to 64GB and up to class 10 SDHC... Stay clear of SDXC, probably too new a format for your phone's card slot.
