How to recover from demo content

I reset my Lumia 520. While restarting I skipped the sign in step. Some unknown live account got synchronized. I'm not able to delete that account. In "about" instead of reset option I'm getting "update demo content". Volume up button not working so hard reset not possible... So how do I reset my phone?

You've been given / bought a demo model. Return it to the supplier.

If your phone is out of warranty or bought used then flash it to a retail version ROM and you should be alright. As mentioned above, your phone is running the demo firmware which implies that the phone was a store demo device

I don't think I'll be able to convince the retailer and get it replaced.. I'm out of warranty.. Suggest some other possibility to reset my phone other than flashing...

Unless you flash you're stuck with the Demo ROM. A reset doesn't magically remove the demo content from your device. Besides that, future firmware and OS updates are very very limited. If I were you i would flash it. If you still want to reset then try the hardware key combination (look for instructions on the Microsoft website)

Thanks for u suggestion pankaj981... But my volume up button is not working... How do I reset..?

Well I'm out of ideas here. You could try connecting to NSU and see if it gives you any options but I'm skeptical about it. Even if it does, having a non-working volume up button would be a show stopper

This question has to be asked - Is the phone stolen? Did it fall of the back of a lorry?
