Cortana lost her humor?

Is it just me? Or Cortana seems to be not responding to things that she used to last time?
Like "hello", "sing me a song", "tell me a joke".
All it does it brings me to a web search.

Is Microsoft doing something to their back end?

I had that problem after a phone reset. Turns out, Cortana was turned off. Go into settings and turn Cortana on.

The thing is, I've checks it in 4 different phone, L520, L820, L720 and this L930 all seem to have the same problem. She just ain't doing all the stuff she used to.

But Cortana as a assistance is working. She still does the things I ask her. Only the humors/fun to have part of her seems to be gone.

Could it be, that Microsoft rolled out some region blocking settings on their back end?

I think rhapdog is right, it's probably a regional issue. Something going on with the Bing back end that isn't allowing to work. I just asked Cortana to tell me a joke, and she did. I am in the US as well.

Still making me laugh here, although today I didn't ask her to tell me a joke... I merely hesitated after saying 'Cortana'.


I do sometimes find Cortana directs EVERY question to Bing and sometimes she'll just crash out for no reason, but recently she's been much better. I guess it's all part of the beta.

I am in East Malaysia. I tried both US & UK Cortana on my L525 and I find the UK Cortana talks more. The US Cortana gives me web result most of the time.

Ohh then this must be a regional issue then. There is no other reason for everyone in Asia region to face such problem and other regions as US and Europe have to no have this problem.
