How can I get Cortana to work?

My keyboard and language is set to English. Now my region is United States, English (United States) and Cortana app still reads "I'm afraid I'm not available to help in your region with the language you've chosen." I need help and I'm really excited about the update and Cortana. HTC 8x

It maybe because English US is not at the top...Go to settings > Language, long press English US and select move up... Also check Cortana speech settings from the settings option and check wether EnglishUS is selected...if English US is not working you can try English UK.
