How do I make the VLC app tile transparent?

I have VLC on my denim 930 and the tile is transparent. I can uninstall and reinstall, remove and repin the tile, I can tweak the VLC theme to dark or light, but the tile stays transparent.

I have a denim 820. When I install VLC there the tile is orange, and no amount of reinstalling etc. will make it transparent. I have no such issues with other apps.

The only difference, Info & Extras is well out of date on the 820 as it's just been factory reset and the new version is blocked in the store. I mention it because there is a later version on the 930 in case that affects anything.

So, I cannot for the life of me remember how to make the tile transparent. Can you tell me how?

On my daughter's 820 VLC is also not transparent (denim) but on my 925 and 930 it is. So looks like a "device" issue.

so if you change the tile size to smallest and biggest the tile will be transparent but in the medium size it's orange as you mentioned...I experience this on my phone.

For my 925 and 930 all the tiles stay transparent but on the 820 only the small is transparent and the middle and large are tiles are orange.

Very odd for such a thing to be device dependent. Still, ta for reassuring me that it's not just me.

vlc app tile can be made transparent only if it set to the smallest tile size i.e. 1X1 (yet)
