Can I use my phone which I bought in India on US Mobile Carriers?

Hi guys,
I have a lumia 640 which I bought in india. now, il be moving to the united states in august, and was wondering whether I can just pop a sim from a US carrier into this phone without doing anything else.
Is it possible? and if not, how to I fix it?

With GSM 850/900/1800/1900, and with WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100, you should have no problem using the phone in the US with 2G/EDGE speeds. IIRC you may have a problem with T-Mobile for 3G speeds, though, because they use a 1700 AWS. AT&T should be fine.

My band knowledge is a little rusty, though, so a second opinion may be in order.
