When will Lumia 940 be available (or announced)

I'm currently using a Lumia 920 (allready for two years). I'm thinking on purchasing a Phone. I'm afraid that when I choose the 930 , the 940 will be released.

I had a 1020 and planned to hold until 940, but I change my mind and jumped to the 930.

The 940 might come when the Windows 10 for phone is ready, which is late summer/early fall...
I will upgrade to 940 later (might be next year) when it takes a price cut

I did the same. Sold my white 1020 and bought the black 930. It's heavier but much compact in terms of body ratio and easier to hold. The 940 is still months away, and by that time you can sell your 930. I decided to go for 930 because I don't buy phones at launch price. And because it still has the Nokia logo =)

We won't see any new top-of-the-line hardware until after summer most likely when Windows 10 for Phones is all ready to go.

If you won't mind waiting a few months, sure.
If you want to try out the 930, sure, its still a great device.

Personally I'm probably going to wait since I'm still under contract and whatnot.

Can't answer the original question, but wanted to point out that a 930 might be a worthwhile upgrade.

I had a 920 and was very happy with it. Only upgraded to the 930 because I had an offer I couldn't refuse.

Haven't looked back (after the first week getting used to its different feel). Larger screen. Faster. Noticeably so. Better camera. Much better battery life.

Consider getting a 930 SIM free and sell it when the 940 or whatever comes out.
