Why does my camera not save pictures correctly?

Why does my camera not save pictures correctly.

My photos save for a short while then they become unavailable and often show as a partial image with distorted patterns.

You say camera, is it a standalone camera? Or a phone camera? What phone? What OS and version? What camera App? One camera App or any App? Are you saving the pics internally or to a card? What card? Has it always been this way? Did it just start? Was something changed just when it started? What was changed? Is it all pics? Is it just new pics? Is it just bad on the device screen? Have you tried viewing the files elsewhere? Can you send the files in Text or Email? Did you drop the device? Did the device get wet? Was the device exposed to temperature extremes?
