Why won't it save my "Windows Update Preferences"?

[Windows Central Question]

I am on my i5 surface pro 3 and I have to choose automatic windows updates over and over. It happens multiple times per day. I get a notification in the action center and it asks me to set up automatic windows updates (which I want) but after I do, it asks me to do it again later on. It seems like i notice Action Center asking me to do it when I connect/disconnect from a power source.
Also, I use BitDefender, which has their own Windows update service, so maybe it has something to do with that, perhaps.

Bitdefender is your answer; it doesn't play nice with windows updates, which is annoying, but I've had that problem a long time. Hopefully they change that fact in Windows 10!
