What should i do to my windows 8.1 licensed if i want to install windows 10? Will i lose my licence

I am worried about loosing my windows 8.1 licensed version if i install windows 10 in my laptop. What should i do to save my windows 8.1 version and not loose it due to mistake?

If you have a genuine Win 8.1 copy then nothing will happen to your win 8.1 as you can always install it again. In my opinion you can do 2 things:
1. Be patient en wait another 27 days as Win10 will be officially launched. Assuming you have the get the free Win 10 update icon on your taskbar.
2. Register for WIndows Insider, download the latest WIn 10 build and enjoy. As long as the Win 10 build is installed as an update of Win8.1 then the license info will be kept an you will get the RTM version on July 29th
