Windows 10 - Files & folders gone and everything reset!

Hi,

I've been using 10 for some time now with no issue. Today, my laptop took an age to log on and said 'Preparing Windows' - usual log on screen with my account picture. When it finally did log on, everything had reset (including the keyboard layout and time zone, desktop theme etc.) and all my folders etc. are gone.

Anyone got any idea what has happened? Is my stuff retrievable? Nothing important luckily as this lives on USB (I've been burnt before) but some nice to haves!

I actually submitted this question. The strangest thing - I just simply rebooted (having changed nothing else) and following reboot, everything back to normal. Only rhing I can think of is that I have a dual boot with Ubuntu and somehow Windows got confused (I know that it's not hard to confuse Windows!). Anyway, problem solved!
