Nokia Lumia "Your PC needs to be repaired" Message

My Nokie Lumina, after having its battery out for a week, displays this message. It won't connect on my laptop and the power + volume thing doesn't work.

Which one displays that message, your PC or the Lumina? If its the PC it sounds like you have a malware issue.

It's on the phone. Nothing else comes up or will work to reset it. It won't talk to my laptop.

Have you tried hard resetting your LUMIA Phone?
Settings .. About .. Reset phone

**note back up your phone first Settings .. Backup .. Apps and settings

I have no problem doing a hard reset. Just don't know how.

Try the above solution first. Once done you could update the USB driver for the phone. Type in winusb into google and download it manually and follow the prompts. Your pc is fine its not a malware issue its a driver issue.

I have no problem doing a hard reset. Just don't know how.

I can't reset from my phone. It's the blue screen of death with the error message. My laptop gives me an error message when I try to connect. Doesn't see it. Think I'm screwed;

?Download and install windows phone recovery tool
?Press power button and vol up button together to force phone to go into flashing mode
?Connect to the pc via USB and start the flashing process

My icon was not being detected by the recovery tool.. I did the volume down power button reset then after the phone vibrated pressed the power button a couple times and the recovery tool detected my phone and downloaded the software.. I had to repeat this process to flash the phone too..

May be unorthodox but it worked for me.
