950XL incoming sms / text message sound notification not working

I have had this VERY ANNOYING issue since i got my 950XL, every time someone texts me i don't get a notification, or a sound that it is in my sms / text inbox. Anyone with a solution would be great, i have gone through the settings to no avail. (Please don't tell me to soft or hard reset, the phone does soft resets on its own, sometimes even once a day... )

Is this while you are paired to a Bluetooth audio device? If so, I have the same question. I thought you may be able to disable it from the "Driving mode option" but that doesn't work.

Did you add a custom tone for the messages? If so, try setting it back to default > soft reset and test
