How do I stop Windows 10 Guessing What I Want to Do?

I use 10 on a laptop and it keeps trying to guess what I want to do. An example: In Word if I move mouse over a command but don't click it will carry out that command (but not always) spell checking is almost impossible because as you move down the list of possible words the machine selects one for you.
Any ideas?

I'm thinking your mouse is overly sensitive and it thinks you've selected something already. Can you try without the mouse as much as possible? using arrow keys and tab and such
