why is there no sound on my PC and Cortana has no amplified sound

I created a playlist on Spotify. While the music was playing the sound stopped and has not yet began to work and it has been at least three hours. Cortana will only respond with txt displays.

Simply reboot .

try the restart as suggested
try to also switch off and on the internet connection
