Microsoft Account Won't Sync After Outlook.com Update?!

[Windows Central Question]

Since Microsoft updated Outlook.com earlier this week, my phone (8.1), desktop (10) and my Outlook.com account will no longer sync. It also removed all of my contacts profile pics everywhere (the ones I added to the Outlook account on my phone). I have not been able to sync since Monday - and from what I've seen searching with Google, lots of people have the exact same problem - but no solution.

Any ideas?!

I am able to sync (at least the emails) but my contacts profile pics (which I added all manually) disappeard as well

and if you check in the browser, are you able to access your mails?
