The keyboard has just disappeared on my Lumia 640. Why?

The phone has been upgraded to Windows 10.

if you have recently upgraded it to windows 10 then perform a soft reset by holding together volume down+power key until phone reboots.

also check under phone update is there any other update pending as a first time upgrade to windows 10 includes multiple OS updates.
