How can I restore my OneDrive files after formating my laptop?

[Windows Central Question]

So my laptop was attacked by virus and I had to format and reset my laptop; which led to erasing all my files. But all my files (i.e., in documents, pictures etc. ) before in hand where saved to my OneDrive ( there used to be a green tick on the icon of each file).
So now, how do I restore those files which were already backed up? I tried logging into my Microsoft Hotmail account, but it didn't restore. WHAT do I DO?
